Merry Christmas!

I made this Christmas cards two weeks and I am finally getting around to posting it! These are the cards that I sent out this year. I got the idea for my card from one of my Paper Princess Blog Sisters, Melina. She makes the best clean and simple cards. She made a beautiful snowflake card and scored the bottom of her card. I had this cute stamp but didn't know what to do with it until I saw her card.  I used Tsukineko Memento Cottage Ivy and Brilliance Galaxy Gold. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

Cars

I know it has been a while. I have been busy, busy, busy and haven't had much time to craft but finally I was able to sit down and make this layout for a swap on SCS. I just love this swap! It is a secret sister type of swap but instead of sending goodies you send a completed layout (pictures and all). I made this for Terria (also one of my Paper Princess Blog Sisters) so it was an extra special layout. She asked that I leave room for journaling and for some chipboard embellishments she had. I love how the layout came out and all the colors.

Family

A girl friend invited me to an all day crop last month and I have a lot of pages I started but need to finish! This is one of them.  I finally finished it up with the title. I wish I had a darker color or maybe I might add some glitter to title. I also embroidered the "F" onto the page. I would have embroidered the entire title but the paper has a white core and it it shows through when the needle goes through. Oh well!

Best Friends

I am a little bit behind on some of my crafting. I've been busy, busy, busy. Oh well, that is just how it goes sometimes! Here is another one of my Basic Grey Page of the Month Kits. It is from the Max and Whisker line. This kit is from a couple of months ago. I told you I was a bit behind!

These are my furry babies, Anabelle, Sweetie, and Lulabelle. Aren't they just adorable!!

Birthday

I made this layout for a swap and was able to add some pictures to mine before sending them off in the mail. I cut the title out on the Cricut as well as the two frames. I can't remember which cartridges I used though!

Paper Princess October Competition

Melina sent us this wonderful kit for October. She makes the most beautiful clean and simple cards. She wanted us to make a CAS with our kit. I am not sure if this fits the criteria or not but I like how the card came out!

Dying For Easter

This was just a quick layout! One of my blog sisters challenged us to see who could make the most blog posts. I am already behind!! The paper is DCWV from the Flower Shower line. I used my Cricut to cut out the little bunny, grass, eggs, and title.

Basic Page of the Month - Olivia

Here is yet another Basic Grey (did I mention, I love Basic Grey **giggle**) Page of the Month Kit. I think this was from September's kit. The paper is from the Olivia line. I didn't like the original layout so I made a few alterations. Not too many, though. I like clean lines and symmetry. The original design looked messy. That is what is so nice about these kits. Use them as they are, or change it to something completely different.

Don't Feed the Animals

Helllloooo! I know it has been a while. My internet was down on and off for over a week and then it went down for 4 days....gggrrrrr!

This is a layout of a trip to Ohio we took last summer. The kids had a blast driving through this animal park. They were feeding the animals out the car window. They had so much fun, they didn't want to go to the Columbus Zoo. They thought this was way more fun! All of the paper is from Basic Grey.

Competing Princesses Round 2

The competing princesses are at it again! Two teams, two kits......let the games begin! *giggle* This months kit was from Terria. At first I wasn't sure how to color the image. It just didn't seem to relate to the image (in my mind). The dp in the kit had red apples on it and I really wasn't sure about how it was going to look. Then I accidentally turned the paper over and voila, red paper!! LOL Okay, it wasn't really an accident that I turned the paper over. I was just about to apply adhesive to the back!!

Check out the rest of my teams creations:

Critter Sketch Challenge #32

Woo Hoo! Its another challenge at Critter Sketch Challenge. This weeks challenge is a color challenge. Well, actually it is a "lack of color" challenge! Neutrals only, please!! Likewise, no black and white color combos either. This months sponsor is Sew Many Cards. Don't forget to hop on over to check them out!

Here is this weeks card:

The sentiment is SU! I used a Tim Holtz Sizzix die to cut the front edge. The DP is from Basic Grey and I used a Labels 10 Nestabilities die. I spritzed on a little Glimmer Mist in Dazzling Diamonds for some pizzaz. Enjoy!!

Critter Sketch Challenge #28

It is time for another Critter Sketch Challenge! This week sweet and sassy Moira Coward has challenged us with a summer theme with a catch, Please use the colour red and striped patterned paper somewhere on your creation. I decided yet again to make a scrap book layout. This weeks layout is very simple and it is from a Disney cruise we took last year. I made the ships wheel with my Cricut and added a cute little Mickey eyelet in the corner. Don't forget to go check out this months sponsor, limeLIGHT Papercrafts. They are having a huge sale and they have a lot of great items (even my favorite, Basic Grey)!

The other team does not know what image the opposing team received and vice versa. On the day of the reveal, we post are creation and see what everyone came up with using the same supplies. Greater Vancouver Zoo

This July, my husband had to go to Canada for work and me and the kids were able to go along and do some sightseeing. Even luckier, we were able to go to the Greater Vancouver Zoo and meet one of my best online buddies Moira and her sister Megan. It was so nice that they were able to come and meet us (even though is was a long drive and early morning for them not to mention a ferry ride). I made this layout with items I received in two different swaps on SCS. One was a border swap and the other was a card/page candy swap. It sure made for a quick page!

This months challenge is a sketch challenge. This sketch was designed by the fabulous Lisa Somerville.

Here is this weeks card. I have absolutely no idea what the name of the image is or what company it from.  I received it in card candy swap with no details. So if anyone knows, let me know!

Enjoy!

10 Months

Here is another Basic Grey layout (hee hee hee).  This is from the Urban Prairie line (with just a little tiny bit of Two Scoops thrown in). This another one of my middle child's portraits when she was only 10 months old. Hard to believe she will be thirteen in a few months!

I am entering this in two challenges:

Practical Scrapper - Tuesday's Anniversary - Use just one photograph
Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Challenge #21 - Anything Goes

Sweet Dreams

I made this layout with my favorite paper - Basic Grey! This is from the Lime Rickey collection. I am entering it in the Practical Scrapper Challenge - Use Your #1 Favorite Product. Everything is from Basic Grey (even the lettering for the title). It is just a simple one page layout....enjoy!

Snowmageddon

I received this layout in a swap on SCS. The swap requirements were to use your Sizziz, Big Shot or Cuttlebug and it was made by madcrazy. I like to put a lot of pictures on my layouts. Ususally I can move embellishments or photomats around. Luckily I was able to move some of the trees and the journal box around to get all of my pictures on! It's nice to just be able to slap your pictures on a layout that's already made.

Critter Sketch Challenge #24

Here is another Critter Sketch Challenge!  This is the last week to play in July for a chance to win some cute digi images! This months sponsor is Robyn's Fetish. I made my card using two of her cute images! This time I tried using my daughter's Prismacolor pencils. I think I like my Copics better. Oh well, you live and learn!

Mickey & Friend

Whoo hoo, two posts in one day! Here is a little scrap layout I made using a sketch from Mojo Monday 148. I thought this was a great sketch for a one page scrap layout. This also works for the Crazy4Challenges C4C45 - Red, black and white.

Christmas in July

This week over at Critter Sketch Challenge it is Christmas in July! Not only is it Christmas in July but there is a cute sketch to go along with this weeks challenge as well as a new sponsor, Robyn's Fetish.  Play along every week for a chance to win some cute digi designs!

I decided to play along, too. I made a scrap layout of some Christmas pictures on a trip to see the National Christmas Tree. I thought the sketch would make a cool layout. I also used my favorite paper, Basic Grey!

In additional to the Critter Sketch Challenge, I am entering this in the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #31 -colors forest green, cranberry and ivory, Creative Prompts for You #24 - Christmas in July

Recessed Window Card

The blog group I am in had a little challenge. The lovely Marsha wanted us to make a recessed window card. Although the actual recessed-window-card-part wasn't too difficult to do, the actual direction the card took was! I am not too happy with the card and how it came out (it looks way better in the photo LOL). I used Basic Grey's Two Scoops paper with a little Pink Bubblegum Glimmer Mist (can't quite get the hang of not getting a few blobs spraying out). I popped the little Penny Black Hedgie (I just love those hedgies).  I am also entering it in the following challenges:

Crafty Calendar - #10 Summer
Scrap-Creations - #18 Summer using Basic Grey
Allsorts Penny Black - A Burst of Summer Colour
One Stop Craft  - Monochromatic

Critter Sketch Challenge #22

Hello and happy Monday! It is time for Critter Sketch Challenge #22 and this weeks challenge is an inspiration challenge. Also, there is a new sponsor this month, Robyn's Fetish.  Robyn's Fetish  makes some really cute digi images so make sure you check out her work! I made my card using the image Waking Up Birdie. My eye's have a hard time coloring detailed images and I can't stay in the lines (isn't that a kindergarten skill?) so don't look too closely...hahaha. Enjoy and don't forget to play along with the Critter Sketch Challenge for a change to win some free images from Robyn's Fetish.

Boys Being Boys

I made this layout for one of my SCS friends, SUBetsy. I tried to make it so she could put several photos in either direction. I hope she likes it! I am also entering this in the Critter Sketch Challenge #21 (4 stars) and the Diedrich Dare (inspiration photo challenge).

Happy July 4th!

Happy 4th of July!! I hope every one is enjoying a fun and safe July 4th weekend. I love the 4th of July, especially the fireworks. It is one of my favorite holidays.

Here is a another Basic Grey layout using the Capella line of paper. This time I used a kit from Basic Grey. The kit is so nice. It has enough paper to do one full double page layout and extra paper to make a few cards or a single page layout. If you don't like the layout in the kit, you can do something else. I love these kits!!

Capella

Here is another Basic Grey layout. Did I mention that I love Basic Grey paper? This is from the new Capella line. I inked the edges of the chipboard letters in Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen. The accents on the top corner were cut out from a sheet of Bravo! Enjoy!!

VSD #4 Challenge

I have several posts today so don't forget to scroll down!

The blog group I am in had some challenges this weekend. Here are two cards that I was able to make. The first one was posted by Terria and the challenge was supposed to be a summer card and you had to use your Cricut. I had this sun that I made for a previous swap. It always pays to make extra! I think the cartridge used was Life is a Beach. Also just for fun I am entering the card in the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge blog where you needed to use stripes some how on your creation and the Stampin' B's Summer Fun Theme.

The second card I made was posted by April. The challenge was to use acetate. I just happen to have a package that I bought but was afraid to use! I embossed the card with my Cuttlebug using the Happy Birthday embossing folder. I also wanted to use this for Melina's challenge and that was a color challenge with a twist. The twist was that the card had to be masculine. So I hope this works! I didn't have the SU! colors but I think I was close enough. I am also entering this in the Practical Scrappers challenge for using a border punch and All Sorts challenge for embossing.

I've got a color challenge for you with a theme twist...

Your colors are:

Chocolate Chip

More Mustard

Old Olive

Basic gray

Very Vanilla

It is difficult to see the embossing but if you click on the picture to make it bigger it is easier to see!

Critter Sketch Challenge #20

It is another challenge at Critter Sketch Challenge. This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge. The sketch was created by Kelly Haberstroh. This months sponsor is Soft Pencil. Don't forget to play along and win a gift certificate to the Soft Pencil store. I decided to make a 12x12 scrap book layout for this weeks challenge. Enjoy!

Anything Goes - Basic Grey

I made this card for the Going Grey with Scrap-Creation Challenge: Anything Goes. I love Basic Grey paper! As soon as I saw this challenge, I had to play. I used the Cappella line of Basic Grey and the sentiment is from SU!

Cricut Swap

I made this LO for my 12x12 Cricut swap on SCS (thanks Melanie for letting me host the last two rounds!). I really like the colors. The paper is from Die Cuts With a View's Flower Shower line. The font is from the Cricut Gypsy Font cartridge and the butterfly came from Ashlyn's Alphabet. I like to be able to scrap a lot of pictures on my LO's. Sometimes I will add the mats for pictures when I do a swap and sometimes I don't. I guess it just depends on the LO. I want people to be able to put the pictures in any direction and anywhere they want. Enjoy!

Critter Sketch Challenge #18

It's a new month and a new sketch at Critter Sketch Challenge. In addition to a sketch you need to incorporate some ribbon into your creation. Mine is a graduation card. This month's sponsor Soft Pencil where you will find some really cute digi stamps! Remember, you need to play every week and post your creation to your blog and to the CSCB in order to win!

Critter Sketch Challenge #16

Whew, is May finally over? I can't wait for June and the end of school and hello Summer!! Here is this weeks Critter Sketch Challenge. This weeks challenge is a color and inspiration challenge. The color purple and flowers needed to be a part of the design. I found a Basic Grey page kit and I liked the layout that was used. I didn't buy the kit or the paper but I made this layout using Basic Grey paper (green at Heart) I already had in my stash! I liked the layout so much that I made a second using paper from the Pressed Petals Cats N' Dogs collection. I am giving this layout to Butterflygirl2878 (Jaime) on SCS for her dog pictures. I wanted to show the contrast in papers using the same layout design. I really like how this layout came out too!!

More Scrappin'

I was able to make two layouts with my new favorite paper. I love the Basic Grey paper's!! I also love that I am getting some old pictures scrapped. I think I like this brand because everything coordinates. No hunting for paper that matches. I really like the colors, too!

Disneyland

I made this page for a swap on SCS. It is a general Disney themed page and I like to be able to put a lot of pictures on a page. I had a bunch of miscellaneous pictures from Disneyland. You know the ones, where you don't really have a theme going or enough pictures to create a page just for that. Well, these pictures I though were perfect for this LO and I got it into an album! That's feels good especially since the pictures are from 2004!!

Critter Sketch Challenge #14

This weeks challenge at Critter Sketch Challenge is a sketch challenge. Also Dustin Pike is the sponsor for this months challenge so if you haven't checked out his designs before or tried digi stamps, here is your chance! If you aren't too sure about digi stamps, then you can always try out one of Dustin's freebies to get you started.  That is where I found this little guy. Every year when I was little we watched the Wizard of Oz and those flying monkeys used to scare me and I would cry and cry! Well this one is more whimsical than the ones that made me cry! I hope you like the card!!

2 Years Old

Happy Mother's Day everyone!! Here is another layout of my daughters professional portraits. She is two years old in this picture, that was ten years ago. I don't know where the time has gone!

Friday, May 7, 2010

3 Years Old

I started working on my kids professional portraits about 3 yrs ago. I got started with one child (up to the first 9 months), then I stopped! Well, I was able to scrap a few more last weekend and here is one that I did of my middle child. She was three years old in those pictures and now she is 12!

Critter Sketch Challenge #12

This weeks Critter Sketch Challenge was a sketch with a catch, you had to use green on somewhere on your card. Also Dustin Pike is the sponsor for May (where did April go?). So I used one of Dustin's digital images.  If you have never used a digital image before, they are wonderful! You can size the image any size you want and print to your favorite paper. This little guy is mantis and I decided that he would make a great firefly instead! I also thought this would make a great card for a guy (young or old)! I used copics to color the image.
