Gift Card Holder

It's a card. It's a gift. It's a Gift Card Holder! This was the fastest and easiest gift card holder ever. Good thing too because I needed to make a few.

Here's the link with the instruction so you can make your own gift card holder.

Glamour Girl

This is one of my favorite swaps on SCS. It is a secret sister swap and you make a layout using your secret sister's actual photos. It is so fun to make a page for someone else and get one back in return all ready to put in your album. This is the page I made for rhoshoun:

When I posted by layout to my SCS gallery, I noticed the LO right next to it from the last round. There isn't much different about the two LO's except for the color of the paper!  Oh my, I guess I need to try new things.

Box Card

Happy Sunday! My blog sister AnnMarie gave us this challenge and gave us the instructions to make this cute box card. I was already planning on sending a gift card for my BFF's daughter's 18th birthday but still needed to make a card to go with it.  It put a gift card in mine but AnnMarie had some gret ideas - hot chocolate packet, tea, anything that is simi-flat and not too thick will work. The inside is actually quite big. Perfect timing AM! Make sure to check out AnnMarie's awesome creation.

Paper Princess Weekly Challenge

The Paper Princess Blog Sisters have started some new challenges to keep ourselves on our toes...LOL. This week challenge was as follows:

Since Thanksgiving and the holidays are upon us I want you to sit quietly and think of someone that you are truly thankful for and make them something! It can be anything you would like! (Ideas: card, a box full of goodies, a book mark, a tag, a mini album, or even a scrapbook page about/for them.) Your choice! Only requirement is that you use the color orange somewhere on your creation!

I decided to make a bunch of blank cards for my BFF of almost 20 years. She doesn't stamp or make cards but she always remembers to send a card for birthday's, anniversary's etc.

Here are two of the cards I have made so far:

I cased the card design from one that Melina made ... tee hee hee. Her card is so much cuter.

Mexico?

This is just a simple, cute and fun layout of pictures from Disney's San Angel Inn at Epcot. We were just waiting for our reservation and hanging out inside the restaurant. I like to pick up colors from the photos in my layouts. The title came from a page candy swap and I used clip art for the Three Amigos.

Pillow Cases

I started sewing again! It with not being able to find a suitable Halloween costume for my daughter and then a children's gift swap. Someone had made my daughter a pillowcase once. I thought that would be a perfect gift for someone! Plus, I needed to get checked out on my sewing skills after not having sewed for a few years to prepare for that costume. I ended up making three pillowcases. The two pictured I made for my kids.

Just Beachy

Here is another layout I made for one of my favorite swaps on SCS. I think the bright colors help make the pictures pop with all that white sand. It was a simple lo but I think it came out nice.

Something Old is New Again

I have several scrap book layouts that just never made it into albums. They've been sitting in those plastic acid-free folios waiting and waiting and waiting. Well, they were originally 8.5x11 layouts and no one really does those anymore! All my new albums are 12x12 so I used some creativity and made them into 12x12 layouts. I kept the original layout and added some 12x12 and a few other embellies etc, rounded some corners and voila, now they are finally in albums! I don't think you can tell they were originally 8.5x11, either. Can you?

Happy July 4th!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Here is an easy layout I made. The Mickey rosette was made by a friend and the Mickey icon was received in a card/page candy swap. I am a little behind on my Disney pages but I am getting there slooowly.

Floral Flourish

Sorry I've been MIA. I had a family emergency but I'm baaaaaaack!! Here is a little something I made for a swap on SCS. This is actually a wide border for a 12x12 scrap book page. This border measure 4"x12". I love making these wider borders. There is so much you can do with the wider size. Enjoy!

March Competing Princesses

Hello, this post a a few days late! The awesome Colleen out together this kit for out Paper Princess Blog Sisters competition. She even included a cute sketch. I didn't have room for the sentiment so I put it inside. Silly me, I should have turned the card the other direction but honestly, I almost didn't see the sentiment! There were these two white ovals and I didn't see anything stamped on them. I almost glued them under the flowers. In fact one was already glued and when I went to put adhesive on the other to attach it to the card, that is when I saw the sentiment. SO I quickly peeled them off but it was too late to re-orient my card. Everything else had been attached.

Lesson learned: Flip everything over first before making the card!

Got Snow?

I made this layout for mnewby's swap over at SCS. I CASED this layout from the cover of Creating Keepsakes magazine. I really like the colors and how this layout came out. I used some Glimmer Mist in Dazzling Diamonds on the title to add a little sparkle. The border punches are Martha Stewart and EK Success. I cut the snowflakes on my Cricut from the Joys of the Season cartridge. The paper is AC Cardstock, Bazzill, ATD's Jack Frost. The snowflake border is from Recollections. Enjoy!!

Relaxing!

I am trying to use up supplies I received in swaps. So quick and easy to throw a layout together with this border sets! I got this border set from a good swapping buddy of mine, NancyLuvsMickey. I just love the colors. I only added the photo mats and the background card stock. She did the rest!

Competing Princesses Again!

Whoo hoo! My blog sisters are at it again. We are having a friendly little competition amongst ourselves. There are two groups and each month the host for that month sends their group an image, solid card stock, DP, and some embellies.  Then we go to work designing a card with our kits. It is fun to see what everyone does with the identical kits. My group's hostess for this month is the fabulous Marsha and here is my card:

Best Friends

We have been having some wonderful weather the last few days. It feels like Spring!! I am sure it will get cold again soon enough. Here is another scrapbook layout! I made this for a secret sister swap on SCS. The theme was, yep you guessed it, "Best Friends." This is such a fun swap. You exchange pictures and make a layout for your secret sister. It so fun to to make something for some else and get something back. Such a great way to get a page done for your album!

Basic Grey Curio

I'm Baaaaaacccccccccck!

I haven't posted in a while. Hopefully this is just a temporary thing! I had a lot going on in January and an unexpected death in the family right after Christmas. I kind of lost some of my scrapping mojo. I hope it comes back soon!

I made this LO using one of Basic Grey's page of the month kits. I still haven't found just the right pictures and I am missing the title. I will get it done soon, promise!
