Good morning and happy Wednesday! It's time for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday. If your wondering what it's all about, head on over to Julia Dunnit's blog to find out and maybe even join in!
Today I have a scrap page that I am trying to resceu. I found this layout in a stack of layouts that I either made or received in swaps but hadn't out any pictures on it yet. I made it just over 3 years ago. I thought I could use it and printed some pictures. I wasn't too pleased with the layout. It I thought I could rescue it somehow by adding the title and some embellishments. Well that's where I got stuck.
I added a burlap border, some washi tape and staples. I even moved the chipboard flower but I am still not happy with it. I might be replacing the chipboard flower with a larger flower. I haven't decided yet. It needs to sit for a while!
whats in the bottom left corner ?
ReplyDeleteWashi tape!
DeleteIts looky fine...New on on me, didn't realise you swapped layout as well. LOL Francesca #47
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a LO swap either. Like the LO, the mounts and the washi tape and bits you've since added...cant help feel its the actual 12 x 12 colour that's not tying up. but I'm almost OCD about matching colours the days, and am hoping it's a phase! Aren't you good to go back to an unfinished like this, am super impressed.
ReplyDeleteI like what you have done to your layout with the washi tape and title, Nancy! I am a little late to the party in that I just purchased my first rolls yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteI know you've been struggling with this LO for awhile. Happy to see you haven't given up on it entirely. Sometimes you just need to take away everything but the bare bones and start over. Anxiously waiting to see the end result.Creative Blessings! ~ Kelly #105
ReplyDeleteIt's good to leave it out when your not sure and keep having a look and inspiration normally comes along........

Adding dimensional flowers to any project makes it all better. Well that's what I tell myself, and it does help. Happy crafting #5
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW, cute Layout

Thank you Nancy for visiting me for my first time on WOYWW. Lovely bright colours on your layout

It looks perfectly fine to me, but sometimes it really does help to just let something sit out of sight for a bit, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteA happy WOYWW to you!

Agree with all the comments Nancy. Often sleeping on a decision makes it ping into the creative brain in the morning. Your layout is so cheery!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun layout!
ReplyDeleteA great LO. Did you know you can make your own Washi Tape? Everything looks pretty neat compared to mine! :)
ReplyDeleteI have seen some of the tutorials but have yet to try it!
DeleteIt looks great to me! See you SOON!
ReplyDeleteI love the color scheme! Maybe it just needs a little something on the lower left corner. Otherwise, I think it looks fine :)
ReplyDeleteTake inspiration from your page title Nancy as you hunt for the right elements to make you feel better about your layout. Personally I like it and love your choice of rich autumn colors and the fall feel of your embellishments. I agree with Dorlene perhaps something to balance the left side is needed. I hope you can fix it to your liking. Have a great week and Happy WOYWW! Danie xx
ReplyDeleteI think it looks fabulous the way it is, but I know that you have to be happy with it or you'll never rest.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great...But when I'm not happy with something I do let it sit...usually not just for a day though - but for a long time sadly...then it gets lost and I find it months or years later. I did that with a cross stitch project - and when I found it again the person I was making it for had passed away 4 years earlier.
ReplyDeleteYour pages are always so pretty Nancy! I think I need one of those machines to cut letters out for me....great layout! TFS!!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you need to keep coming back to something, but you'll get there in the end! Thanks for sharing and a belated happy woyww Liz@74
