Critter Sketch Challenge for 2/22

There is nothing we like more than SURPRISING our challenge participants. We will normally only have 1 give a way a month. It will be given at the end of the month. We were not going to give our first one until the end of March. However we thought it would be fun to SURPRISE you and give one away at the end of this week. On to this weeks challenge.....

Here is my layout for the 2/22 Critter Challenge. This week was a sketch challenge and you could either make a card or a scrapbook page. I decided to make a scrapbook page for my SCS friend Smartbug (Moira).  The only requirements, besides using the sketch, was to use either 2 brads or two eyelets in the design.

I decided to make a double page, 12x12 scrapbook layout.

Roller Coaster

Here is another scrapbook layout. I made this using my Cricut and Make the Cut software and a Gypsy. I made the title using Make the Cut software. I can't take credit for the roller coaster, though! I downloaded  the Gypsy file from www.snugasabugdesigns.blogspot.com

Ariel's Grotto

Several Months ago I hosted a Disney LOTW swap on SplitCoastStampers. LOTW stand for "letter of the word." Each person in the swap picks a letter to make and makes the same amount for each letter in that word. So if you have the "d" in Disney, you would make 6 of the letter "d." Each person in the swap does the same. What you get back is a variety of letters to use on a scrapbook page.

Critter Sketch Challenge Announcement

I am so excited to announce a new challenge blog, the Critter Challenge Sketch Blog! There are going to be weekly challenges and prizes of course. I made this layout for my Cricut swap that I am hosting on SCS. I had already planned to do something with snowflakes so it was perfect to work on with all of this snow! This was from our last big snow in December. It looks like I will have more snow pictures to scrap! I only used the Winter Woodland cartridge for the snowflakes and the title. The snowflake on the right in the middle opens up for journaling

Snow!

Okay, this is not craft related! We don't usually get very much snow when it snows. Maybe about 4-6 inches at the most. Well, it started snowing yesterday morning at 9:00am and it is still snowing! Expected snow totals are supposed to be any where from 20-30" by the time it is finished tonight.

Normally there is a walk way to my front door from the driveway. Last night there was a pathway, today I didn't even attempt to clear it out!

Just Playing Around

I bought a new Cricut Cartridge last month, Joys of the Season, and I have been playing around with it lately. I made these two poinsettia's from Joys of the Season. I folded the second set of poinsettia leaves and chalked the creases. I really like how they came out and they were really easy to make!

More Borders!

These are some more borders for a swap! These were for a title border swap hosted by mnewby on SplitcoastStampers. The idea was groups with different titles. The groups I was in were school and beach. The titles I had to make for each group were ABC 123 and Castle (as in sand castles).

The first I cut using my Cricut and the Life is a Beach cartridge and Ashlyn's alphabet for the title. The picture doesn't look as nice as the actual border set. The crab is two tone but it doesn't show up. Oh, well!

The second set I used the Make the Cut software for the first time. This software is great! I don't think I will ever need to buy another font cartridge. I don't have that many anyway, font cartridges that is! I made the book using a webding font and I downloaded a free school font to cut the title. The back pack was made using the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge.

Swaps, Swaps and More Swaps!

It's the new year and I am still making more swaps. They are fun to do and and sometimes you get back some really good stuff to use in your own layouts! I joined a few border swaps since I was told they are easy to do and cheaper to ship!

Here is a sampling of my most recent borders. These were all for a Cricut swap. I used several cartridges for the Spring set (Accesnt Essentials, Pooh and Friends, Stretch Your Imagination, and Tear Drop). I used Joys of the Season for the Christmas set.
